Dear Members,
If you read last month’s Hampton Newsletter, you know that Bill Heilman has resigned
from the Board of Directors of the HFHOA. Bill did wonderful service as our President
for many years and for some time as the President of the HCRA as well. So, thank
you Bill, I learned a lot from you and will try and keep the community in the same
great condition as you did. As the former VP of the HOA BoD, I will act as President
until the BoD makes another determination. Sue Clapper has accepted appointment
to the board and will serve as Vice President.
We finalized the 2012 budget for HFHOA at the September meeting and dues will again
go up. You will be receiving your copy of the budget in the next few days. Note
that the annual dues will go up to $376, an increase of 1.6%. Not quite the inflation
rate, but we were within budget last year and had a few unexpected expenses. The
auditors liked our financial position and we will strive to keep it that way. Our
reserves are in good shape and our investments are secure. Please read the budget
and forward any questions directly to me.
One problem we continue to have with community decorum is that folks are putting
out their garden refuse/grass cuttings in bags and they stay out for several days.
Please, PLEASE, put the cuttings out on Tuesday night since both of our refuse companies
pick up on early Wednesday. This practice just makes the community look messy. If
you’ve done some gardening, just keep the bags out of sight until the appointed
time.
We did not hold our regularly scheduled Board meeting in October due to some personal
conflicts. We held a combined October/November meeting on 2 November and have tentatively
scheduled the next BoD meeting for 7 December. However, we may just cancel that
meeting due to the Holidays and, so far, a lack of unresolved issues. Your comments
or presence are always appreciated and solicited. If you have a major issue, let
an HFHOA BoD member know in advance so we can research if necessary.
